Utah mountain elevations soar up to 13,500 feet! The Wasalch Mountain Range runs top to bottom of Utah and the Uinta Mountains are in the northeast corner bordering Wyoming. The western part of the state is desert land and part of the Great Basin. The desert lands to the east are a continuation of the Colorado Plateau. Utah Hunting Tidbits
- Denny Austad took this record book Elk in 2009 – with a gross score just short of 500”! A non-typical score of 478 5/8”. Nothing typical about that!
- Bowden Gardner and MONSTER Archery Mule Deer from 2012 – possibly the new world record with a bow. Green score was 226 prior to the drying time of 60 days.
- Where winning the draw is not a sure thing, hunting with a Utah Hunting Preserve can provide a sure opportunity. Hunting Preserves manage their elk herds to maximize trophy quality and the health of the herds. With vast acreage and rugged terrain, these preserve hunts provide a thrilling adventure and a shot at trophy quality elk, bison and other big game.
