Owner and
professional hunter, Andy Salgado, "I have achieved what
outfitters strive for; that is a long list of satisfied clientele with
over70% of them returning each year. I base my operation on hard work
and honesty. This will show true through my reference lists of both
successful and unsuccessful hunters. H & A Outfitters, Inc. conducts
all hunts on the basis of fair chase hunting ethics. My only guarantee
to you is 110% effort! "A very big part of my success in the
outfitting business is because of my staff that help put it together
each year. Some of the men that guide for H&A Outfitters, Inc. have
been with me since the beginning. You can rest assured that your guide
is a professional and is knowledgeable of the country and the game
you're hunting."

Mountain Lion/Cougar Hunts in New Mexico
I run a very high success rate on large Tom
lions every year. I book a limited number of mountain lion hunters
per year to keep the quality and high success of my mountain lion
hunts. I guide all the mountain lion hunts myself with my own pack
of hounds that are second to none in the industry. On occassion I
will hire only the best houndsmen possible in the area to assist on
these hunts if need be. This hunt takes place from November through
February. I prefer to book these hunts on an on-call basis as this
will insure good conditions during the hunt. If a date must be set,
it should be in December or January. We usually have good snow
conditions during these months.
Hunting Methods: Cutting tracks on 4X4
trucks, 4-wheelers, snowmobiles & on foot.

New Mexico Trophy
Black Bear Hunting
New Mexico bear numbers are at an all time high and
there's no better time to hunt for color phase black bear with
hounds than the present. 7 out of 10 bears I catch on average are
color phase bears. Average weight is 200 - 300 pounds. I hunt bear
with my same pack of hounds I use on my lion hunts and I also guide
all the bear hunts myself. On occasion I will hire only the best
houndsmen possible in the area to assist on these hunts if need be.
These hunts take place from mid-August to mid-November.
Hunting Methods: Rigging scent and
cutting tracks and treeing or baying bears. |
